Most failed patios fail underneath. The pavers were fine; the base was thin, under-compacted, or never drained. We build up from a base excavated to depth and compacted in lifts, because that is the part that decides whether the patio is still flat in ten years.
What the job includes
- Excavation to the correct depth for your soil and use
- Compacted aggregate base installed in lifts, not all at once
- Pitch built in to carry water away from the house
- Polymeric sand joints to lock the surface and slow weed growth
- Edge restraint on every open edge to stop lateral creep
Process
How the build runs
Five stages, in order, so you know what is happening and when.

Site visit and design
We walk the property, measure it, and talk through materials, layout and budget. Anything that will not work on your grade or your soil, we say so then rather than halfway through the build.

Written scope and schedule
You get the number, the material list and the dates in writing before anything is ordered. No stage of the job starts on a verbal estimate.

Excavation and base
We dig to the depth the job actually needs and compact the base in lifts. This is the stage nobody sees and the one that decides whether the surface is still flat in ten years.

Build
Pavers, stone or block go down on the prepared base, cut to fit and set against edge restraint so the surface cannot creep outward over time.

Finish and walkthrough
Joints are locked, the site is cleaned down, and we walk the finished work with you before we call it done.

Pitch, drainage and where the runoff ends up are decided at the design stage, not discovered after the first heavy rain.

How long does a patio take?
Most residential patios run several days to about two weeks, depending on size, access, and how much excavation is involved. You get a schedule up front.

Can you match existing pavers?
Often yes. Bring us the name if you have it, and we will source it or find the closest current equivalent.

Will weeds grow between the pavers?
Polymeric sand dramatically reduces it. Nothing outdoors is completely weed-proof, but a properly sanded joint stays clean with very little effort.
